Xmas: Saying Things I Shouldn't
Me: Do you really believe in Jesus Christ, my friend? I mean, seriously? I'm sorry if I sound like a blasphemer or a heretic to you but, yeah, do you actually believe that Jesus was responsible for our salvation?
Somebody: Why are you even asking this?
Me: Why shouldn't I? I want to know if you believe so that from you I can defend the faith...
Somebody: I believe in Jesus, Son of God. He died to save us from damnation. He is also God and the Holy Spirit, though some Christians don't believe in the Holy Trinity. Jesus was founder of all Christianity, his teachings are the way, the truth and the life.
Me: But haven't it occurred to you that Jesus must've been this influential celebrity during his time? I think he must've been because he has a lot of followers.
Somebody: He had this 'celebrity' status not because he was charismatic or an entertainer, but because Jesus was and is Lord God. Remember his miracles? Remember his kindness? His parables?
Me: But—
Somebody: Enough. You must not be asking questions. People will stone you to death. Keep your curiosity to yourself. God bless you.
Me: I just want to know better about—
Somebody: Enough.
